Birthday Festivities :-)
This past week Christian turned 27....still young but heading fast towards those 30's, haha. He asked to go to Benihanas for dinner, so, we drove up to Denver for a lovely evening. I've only been to one Japanese steackhouse before, but, they weren't as "talented" as our cook at Benihana's. Abigail was tired, but, such a good little girl! She sat in her high chair holding "momo" and rested while watching the chef perform his fun tricks. Christian and I ordered Filet Minon, and, it was DELICIOUS! I want to go back for our fake three year anniversary in Jan., hehehe.
The next day (Friday 11) Lynda came down. We spent the day hanging out and running a few errands until Christian got off of work. Once Christian came home we headed to Olive Garden for dinner. Abigail unfortunately was tired again, but, did NOT sit back and rest, haha. We had a fun time trying to keep her entertained. Christian was smart and ordered a plate of black olives, so, that kept her occupied for around 15 minutes (the child LOVES black olives). I think Abigail could live off of olives, bread, and ketchup if we allowed it. After dinner, we headed back home to relax.
Bruce drove down on Saturday and the festivities continued :-). We went to lunch at Tomo Sushi, which is very yummy! Bruce was the lucky one who got to hold a sleeping Abigail for the beginning of our lunch. Once she woke up, she spotted Bruce's food and wanted to EAT! He fed her some of his salmon and rice before turning her over to us, haha. Abigail also loves her rice and sushi. She ate quite a few cucumber rolls as well as miso soup. When we were almost done eating, I decided to let Abigail have a go at chopsticks, and, she was really into trying to eat with them. She wasn't very successful, but, she doesn't know that. She would poke at the food with the chopsticks in one hand, suck on the end of the chopsticks, and then use her other hand to pick the food up and eat. It was very entertaining :-P.
After lunch, we headed over to Focus on the Family so that Abby to play around at Whit's End. Christian loved listening to the radio series when he was little, so, it makes him happy that he's able to bring Abigail there. My goodness, he even has the address memorized from listening to the radio shows. We played around there for a couple of hours and then headed back home.

Pope Abby!
These last couple of weeks have been interesting. Abigail got a little stomach bug that Christian and I eventually got as well. Thankfully it only lasted a couple of days for each one of us! When Abigail had it, in order to keep her resting, I pulled her mattress out of the crib and layed it on the floor in the living room. I kept Sesame Street on all day and made sure her sippy cup was always filled. She was quite happy for about 15 minutes, but, then decided it was more fun to climb onto the couch, haha. Oh well...I tried :-P.
A couple of days ago, Christian cleaned out the car, and brought in a few things that didn't belong in there. One of those items just so happened to be a white visor that my mom had left in the car while we were in FL. Abigail snatched it up immediately and has loved playing with it ever since. She actually carried it into the car today to wear on the way to work. She is also wearing it this very second, upside down. Christian made the comment that she looks like the pope, hehe. Anyways, enjoy the pictures :-).

Just another Sunday
Poor Christian had to work all day Saturday until this Sunday morning. It was a pretty lonely day, but, Abigail kept me busy, haha. It's so much fun to watch her toddle around! She has this huge grin on her face just letting the world know that she is so proud of herself. We had church this morning, and, on the way home, I called Christian to see if he wanted me to pick up lunch. We swung by Qdoba, and headed home. Usually Abigail gets turkey, a fruit, and something else for lunch, but, she wasn't very interested today. She had her eye on my lemonade, so, I let her have a sip, and, boy did she like it. I never did get my drink back, haha. And yes...the last picture is of her dumping it out on the floor :-P.

Abigail and Walking
Just before we left for our FL trip this past September, Abigail was starting to take her first steps. She wouldn't really try, unless, we stood her up ourselves and sat close enough to where it only took her two steps to get to us. While we were in FL, she took around six consecutive steps and started to stand up on her own. Well, up until today, crawling has been her preference!!! Usually she would walk a good bit here at home, but, while at the daycare she would only take a couple of steps and then crawl. Today she decided to walk for the most part there as well!!!! They told me that every time she fell, she would stand back up and continue walking, and, that she only crawled a couple of times. I'm so excited (and scared) about this new phase. She is learning to climb, which, is not something I'm loving. During one of our "bad parent" moments, of not paying attention to her for a couple of minutes, Christian found Abigail sprawled across the entertainment center. Yikes! We haven't been able to figure out how to anchor the television, so, this poses a new baby proofing problem. We may just have to put a gate around the tv, haha. Oh well, on to new adventures!!! Yay for walking, haha.
Halloween in Old Colorado City
This Halloween, we decided that we would go out to lunch and then trick or treat in Old Colorado City. This is where Abigail and I had gone with Lynda, and, I've been counting down the days until we could go with Christian. Fall in Colorado is absolutely breath taking, and, we were blessed with such a beautiful Saturday! The sky's were so blue, and, the temperature was either in the high 50's or low 60's. After being cooped up in the apartment with a sick husband and sick baby, I was so ready to get out into the fresh air.
We went to Lunch at the Bon Ton Cafe so that we would already be in the area where the trick or treating was happening. It was so much fun to eat while watching all of the kids walking by in their costumes. Abigail's nap must have been a really good one, because, she was in such a pleasant mood the entire time we were eating. Christian got a Philly Cheesesteak, I got a Buffalo burger, and, Abigail got the regular chicken strips and fries, haha. After we finished eating, we joined the other kids for trick or treating.
Now, last year, Halloween must have fallen on a Friday, because, I do not remember so many people then as there were this year. By the time we started, you could not walk at a very normal pace on the sidewalk. It wasn't unpleasant, just very crowded. Abigail still enjoyed herself very much, though. She was VERY interested in each piece of candy in her bucket. I had to empty it out every few stops just to make sure that she wasn't getting ahold of too much to suck on. We did let her have one or two tootsie rolls, though :-). After we were through trick or treating, we stopped by Deb's coffee house for the free coffee they were giving to parents and to take pictures in the garden area. We love how the pictures turned out!
When we got home, we rested for about an hour and then took Abigail through the apartment building. After that, we made dinner and handed out candy to the trick or treaters. :-)

Our visit to the pumpkin patch
Fall is hands down my most favorite time of the year! I do love the winter season too, but, I just love the fall colors. Growing up in Florida, I never really got to appreciate the outdoors during this time, so, I have been trying to take in as much as possible while we are here in CO.
I decided that it would be fun to take Abigail to a pumpkin patch for her first fall with her daddy :-). I researched for a bit and came across one farm that had a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, and hay ride. This was everything that I wanted, and, a farm seemed perfect since we'd be able to get great pictures with a field of pumpkins as our background. Sadly, upon arrival...it was NOT what I expected. Abigail was scared, tired, and cold. There were at most 20 pumpkins sitting in the dirt (I should have turned around when I saw the shipped boxes of pumpkins hanging out in the barn.) The petting zoo consisted of bunnies and chickens in their coupes and a horse and goat in a little pin. I guess these were the animals that I was picturing...but, not in the atmosphere they were in. Oh...and that hayride...it was a little tractor with fake green hay stacks to sit on. Real special, haha. So...I think I'm going to do a little more research for next year :-P.
We did get to go to Starbuck's afterwards, and, that was DELICIOUS :-P.
