Gideon Isaac

This is Obaa-san posting... Abigail is very busy and curious. She is beginning to put sentences together and it is a joy to hear her express herself. She also has her own little language and chatters on and on, lifting her eyebrows at times and changing her expressions as she talks.

Little Gideon is growing so fast! He is chunking out and really showing a personality now. He is a mellow baby and happy. He loves to interact with us, smiling and cooing, arms and legs moving all the time!

Shannon is a great Mom and is there to provide for the children's every need. And Abigail loves to play with Daddy Christian, especially when he wheels her around and turns her upside-down! It is clear that both Abigail and Gideon know that they are loved and respond in kind.

Since there are quite a few photos of Abigail, I wanted to add some more of Gideon, so you can see his little happy expressions. As you can see from the one photo, he is going to be a singer!

Abby the piggy

Please enjoy my desperate attempt at piggies :-D

Well, I worked this morning, so, I had an excuse to dress the kiddos up, hehe. It was busy, but, I only had to work one service, thank goodness! Now we are back at home waiting for Oba to come back!!! While I washing the dishes, Abigail did some accessorizing. She does a pretty good job, huh? And Gideon was sleeping, hurrah!

Christian has been away for a couple of weeks in the field, therefore, I have been learning how to handle two on my own. Surprisingly, it hasn't been as difficult as I thought that it would be. God has given me two arms, and, I've found them to be very useful, haha. As long as Abigail is good and holds on to my hand, we're safe. Though, we have had plenty of episodes of my stubborn 19 month old sitting in the middle of a crosswalk on the way to work....during rush hour, no less.

Lynda came down this weekend to see the babies and to help out, which, I'm always so so so so so thankful for. We decided to go out to lunch at Outback immediately after she got here. Unfortunately, upon pulling into their parking lot, we found out that they aren't open for lunch, haha. We ended up going Chilis, instead. We split yummy steak fajitas, and, Abigail pigged out on tomato slices. I promise you, two months ago, she wouldn't touch a tomato, but, now she loves them. It's fine with me, haha....I'll take whatever fresh fruit or veggie that I can get into her.

We headed out to the grocery store afterward since we had heard about a possible snow storm coming through. We recently had a ton of snow, so, we wanted to be prepared, haha. Turns out, there wasn't a lot of snow. Oh well :-P.

Today, I found online that there was supposed to be an Easter Egg Hunt in Old Colorado City. Abigail is at a stage where she loves to put all sorts of things into her Halloween pumpkin, so, thought that Abigail would love it. It started at 11:00 for the 0-3 year olds, and, we got there around 11:15. Well...by that time it was over :-(. Some of the parents that got there at 11:03 told us that it was already over by the time they got there. So...next year we will get there at 10:30, haha. They did have a huge bin filled with recycled plastic eggs, so, I pulled a few out and gave them to Abigail to put in her basket, and she was very pleased with that!

After we left the park, we headed to a Mexican restaurant near me. Every time we drive past that place, we would say that we had to try it...so we finally did today. I'm glad that we did!!! The food was really good, and, the staff was AMAZING!!! It's a family owned restaurant, and, the people are so kind and genuine. I can't wait until I can bring Christian there!

Abigail really loves her Elmo. While waiting for her dinner, she decided to split some string cheese with him.

A week

It's been a week and a day since Gideon has been born, but, it only feels like a few days. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. He's such a great nurser, and, is gaining weight. His little face is starting to fill out and he doesn't feel as fragile when we are handling him.
I fully expected for there to be some regression with Abigail, as, it's very common when a new sibling comes into the picture. Instead, around 10 new words have popped out of her mouth (yes, "where'd it go?", cup, Heather, Abby, Ernie, milk, "a,b,c", baby....etc), she is following directions beautifully, demanding to wear Elmo undies over her diaper (she's only gone on the potty twice...we aren't pushing it), and has become a good little helper. She loves to "help" with the laundry, and, every time she she's baby brother, she's trying to shove a pacifier in his mouth (regardless of him nursing at that moment). She loves to hold him and will cry when we have to end her holding sessions :-(. Whenever he is sleeping in our room, she runs back there with her arms in the air shouting "baby." I'm so relieved that Abby is happy about Gideon and that she isn't jealous. She of course wants to cuddle with mommy at times that I'm holding him, and, I try my best to make sure that I'm sitting so that she can. Overall, it's been a happy transition :-). (I'll add some pictures later on today)
