Christian's Update

Yesterday was my first day back at work. It was so nice to see everyone and to have actual conversations. The only person that I've really talked to was my friend Jessica, and that was only a few times a week. Abigail did really well. She pretty much slept from the moment we got there until the third service, when I woke her up to feed her.

Tupac has yet another problem (this dog is SO expensive). He has small scratch under his eye from a couple of weeks ago. It didn't look too bad until the other day when it started to swell a little. Now, he has this HUGE absess under his eye. Hopefully we'll be able to get into the vet today to have it cleaned out. It's not a pretty picture, huh?

Abigail had another night of wonderful sleep, as you can tell. I really can't believe how big she is getting and how fast time is flying by. Hehe this picture is really from this morning after I fed her on the couch...but she really enjoys sleeping anywhere other than in her crib or pack n play. I'm trying to work on that by sneaking her into her crib during her naps. We'll see what happens, I'm not going to be too concerned about it until
she's a little older.

Another interesting morning for us! Behind my apartment, there is a dirt road that curves sharply and lines the edge of a steep hill. This morning around 4 or 5, someone decided that they wanted to drive down this dirt road (which is really there for maintenance, not for residents). They must have lost control and gone down the hill into a tree. No worries, they're fine, but, they spent the next couple of hours trying to get their vehicle back up the hill, and knocked down the neighbors fence. They JUST painted and fixed all of our fences!!! I couldn't sleep though it, Tupac was going crazy, and, Abigail, she was sound asleep.

I go back to work tomorrow and I am actually very excited. It's been a little lonely the past few days. I'm a little nervous about how Abigail will react, but, we shall see. I'm bringing my sling in case she becomes too upset, that way, I can just wear her. I love my job, it's awesome that I can bring Abigail. Anyways, I'll update later with a picture :-).

Okay..it's 11:12 pm here, and I decided to go ahead and add a picture. It is of Abigail sleeping. She isn't a huge fan of being swaddled, but, it's the only way that I can put her down w/out her waking up.

Well, Abigail decided that she was going to start her six week birthday off with a bang...or blow(out). I had taken Tupac out at 6am for his early morning potty. When we came back inside, I picked Abigail up out of the playpen and realized that her back was wet (shudder). Her darn diaper did not do it's job :-(. This, my friends, is why I LOATHE disposables. After working in day cares and nurserys, I have seen my fare share of blow outs from disposables. Yet, never from cloth...which is one of the reasons I chose to go that route. I had exactly 0 cloth blow outs, yet, around 10 disposable blow outs...and she only wears the paper at night!!! Oiy. So, we had a little 6am bathing session. It was fun and Abigail likes being in the warm water, hehe.

Abigail turns six weeks tomorrow!

It hardly seems that it's been that long! It feels like we brought her home last week. I guess having all that help at first made it seem a little too surreal, haha. Since Christian's left, it's been a challenge, but, we're having fun. I took her to the pediatrician to have her weighed this past Tuesday. She was 8 ibs. and 1 oz., two pounds above her birth weight, hurray!!! I think it went straight to her belly. This picture was taken two days ago. And the blanket picture was taken yesterday. She is getting so much bigger :-(, though, I think she's about to go through another big growth spurt, oiy.

Exciting news: Lauren (youngest sister) got a job at GYMBOREE. Ohhhhhh...what a bad bad thing for my addiction!
