Silly little Abby

Abigail decided to dig through my diaper bag and came across the camera. She brought it over to me and kept saying "my piture my piture." She struck a few poses and then was DONE. I also included poor little Gideon. It's funny...I remember hearing someone say that your children will never have as many pictures as the first. I though, "whatever, I'm going to take tons of pictures of all of my children." Silly me...whoever that person was very right. Gideon has very few pictures. I'm trying to be better about it, but it's so hard, haha.

Christian's Birthday

The movers came on Christian's birthday. Since that entire day was consumed with mostly unpacking, we decided to celebrate the next day by going out for dinner. Christian picked out Long Horn...or something like that. Abigail and Gideon both passed out in the car on our way there and they both slept through the majority of dinner. It was almost like we were on a date...until Abigail woke up, hehe. She did not like sitting down, so we took turns with walking around with her. That is, until Christian was clever enough to ask her if she wanted to color. Over all, we had a great time!! We found out that Gideon LOVES lemons. We wanted to see what kind of face he would make, and instead of a sour face, we got two empty lemon rinds.

I can't believe Christian is 28...I feel like we're both still in college. Oh well, I guess that's what I'll be saying from here on out.

We're in JERSEY!!!

I'm so sad that we are no longer in Colorado, but we're learning to embrace New Jersey. It was a long trip, but safe. Thankfully we were a day or two behind a snow storm, so the snow was melted the entire way there. Abigail and Gideon did quite well in the car...and I even drove some!! We got to spend a few days with Aunt Heather once we got to New Jersey, which was a treat. She had booked us a hotel in Dover, which was supposed to be close to where Christian was working (Franklin). We had found a great townhome and were about to sign a lease. Thankfully, Christian had gotten a phone call from the HR lady and he asked her for his work address. The next morning he got it, and we discovered that he was indeed working in Franklin. The Franklin Twp. 1.5 hours south of where we *thought* he was working. You see, New Jersey has a Franklin, a Franklin Township, and a Franklin Park. There are probably more Franklins...but I don't care to know about them, haha. We ended up getting a realtor and finding a townhome after a couple of days of looking.

After settling into our new home, I was finally able to pay attention to my children. Not that they were neglected...I just wasn't twiddling my thumbs and staring at them as usual. I noticed that my lovely little Abigail had a mullet that desperately needed to be tamed. As much as I want this child to have hair, I can't stand a mullet, haha. I'd rather her hair grow in nicely than for her to look like she found a pair of scissors on her own. So, we took her to a fantastic sams for her to get her first hair cut. The day before we took her, I prepared her by asking her if she wanted a hair cut. Even though she had no idea what that meant, she was excited about it. I figured that if I glorified it enough, she would be more willing to sit in the chair and feel like a princess. I think we happened upon the best salon. The ladies were tickled that such a little toddler was in there for a hair cut. They kept talking to her and gushing over her, and Abigail was eating it up. We also lucked out, because on her way to her chair, she saw a beanie Dora doll. She was so happy sitting in her chair with her Dora doll. At one point, she pushed Dora towards the stylist and asked her to cut Dora's hair. She told Abigail that she had already had her hair cut yesterday. She then asked Abigail if she wanted a big girl cut like Dora. Abigail was thrilled and said, "yes!" She didn't really do too much. Just a little from the sides and the mullet. The end result was so much nicer!!! I forgot to take an after shot...but the pictures of her in the car seat are the before, hehe.

The shot of Gideon is before a bath at the hotel. He LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVES baths. He crawls into the bathroom whenever there is an opportunity, stands at the tub, pats at the edge while screaming. It's so cute. He also loves to play in the toilet...that's not so cute.

A weekend with Christine in Estes Park

Christine, one of Christian's best friends that he's knows since his childhood, came up to visit us. We decided to take her to Estes Park, our favorite vacation spot in CO. We had so much fun! I wish I had pictures, but...from the car I watched Christian and Christine almost get attacked by a group of Elk. We walked through a crazy amount of snow without the proper attire. We ate some yummy food...and some not so yummy food. Visited a very cold and snowy bear lake. Taught Abigail how to throw snow balls at Daddy. Lynda and Bruce joined us on Christine's last day, and we went to eat at a really really good restaurant. I'll have to edit once I remember what it's called. The next morning, Christian's Uncle Arthur and Aunt Cindy came up. We ate at a pizza place that we LOVE. They use the freshest ingredients. Abigail loved playing in the arcade area with Aunt Cindy. We then went to the beautiful Historic Stanley Hotel and took a peak inside. We had to head home soon after :-(, but the drive home is so beautiful.

A story without words

Halloween

We had so much fun this Halloween. It was the first year that Abigail actually knew what she was and enjoyed what she did, haha. We have been hearing her ask "more candy peeze" non stop since. She even got the bright idea to ask for it after she went potty...every.single.time. She's such a smart kid, haha.

The day before Halloween, Lynda came down and we took them to the apartment complex party. They just got a little bag of candy and we sat around while Abigail ate some and danced to the music. There was only one other little girl there, but Abigail seemed to have a blast anyway. Gideon enjoyed crawling around and eating his candy....pretzels :-P.

On Halloween, we headed out to Old Colorado City to have lunch at our favorite Greek restaurant, Jake and Telly's. I love their food, it's the closest that I've had to my Uncle Jim's greek cooking. Though...I still prefer his over anything else I've had. Abigail got a coupon for a free kids meal, and got a hamburger....that was larger than our adult meal, haha.

After lunch, we started Trick or Treating, and Abigail had so much fun. She said "Twick tweet" and "dantdu" to everyone :-). She also tried to eat every piece given to her between each shop we visited. Gideon loooooved sitting in the front seat of the stroller watching everyone. We did find out that Abigail is terrified of the big character costumes...like the ones you would see at Disney world or Sesame Place, yikes. Actually, the only one that didn't scare her was some guy wearing an Elmo head. She kept saying, "that's Elmo!" The guy was so sweet to play along and wave at her. It made her day.

When we got home, Abigail took a LONG nap until we started getting Trick or Treaters of our own. We decided to let her go around the complex to do a little more herself. Big mistake...that's where the majority of her candy came from. Turns out, everyone loves seeing cute toddlers and gives them 2-3 handfuls. Now we have this HUGE bowl of candy sitting in our kitchen. It'll probably be full when Halloween comes around next year. We'll have to look into those dentists who buy the candy from kids next year, hehe.

Can I just hit pause, please?

Time is going by way too quickly. How did I end up with a 2 year old and 6.5 month old? They have truly amazed me every day with how fast they have developed and learned.

Abigail is saying so many words and sentences. She loves ballet and dancing. Bella Dancerella is one of her new favorite videos, and, all tutus are called "Bewwa's." She also loves shoes, make up, purses...yikes. She's such a little princess, which is funny, because both Christian and I are both very laid back casual people. She's definitely her own little self.

Gideon started rolling consistently just before 5 months (a little late, whoops). Right after he started rolling, he was trying to sit, which he mastered by 5.5 months. And, now, the child is trying to crawl. I thought that he was going to be my mellow and quiet child who would take his time, but, turns out he wants to see the world....and his lungs are just as good as Abigail's. I keep telling myself that they'll have great breath support for singing later in life.

They do look a good bit alike, don't they. I was
convinced that they looked like complete opposites. Abigail is 1.5 months younger, but, I didn't have a 3 month bath picture, haha.
